Here is a screenshot of some flow analysis Steven has been doing for our motor controller cooling plate. The design is almost finished and we’re looking into our options to have the part made. Unfortunately we are finding that we are hitting the limits of Flow Express on Solidworks and will have to run some more rigorous tests to ensure equal cooling throughout the plate.

We have run our first rough calculations for our motors in various configurations. Here you can see that there is a significant difference in the performance characteristics between the series and parallel configurations, as well as between 3rd and 4th gear. The numbers were calculated using our planned 96 volt pack for phase 1.

We have received 16 12V sealed lead acid batteries, on loan, from the university.
